Tathra MultiSport Festival 2025: A Spectacular Return for Adventure and Community!

Tathra, NSW – The stunning coastal town of Tathra is thrilled to announce the launch of the highly anticipated Tathra MultiSport Festival 2025. This dynamic three-day event, taking place from March 14th to 16th, will showcase exhilarating races, world-class terrain, and the powerful community spirit that has brought the festival to life.

Highlighting this year’s lineup is the relaunch of the much-loved Tathra Wharf 2 Waves, returning after a multi-year hiatus to the delight of fans and newcomers alike. This year’s festival will be a thrilling experience for athletes and spectators set against Tathra’s Wonderfully Wild breathtaking natural beauty.

Rhys Treloar, Tourism Manager with Sapphire Coast Destination Marketing told us, “We are very excited to see the Tathra Multisport Festival come to life! Events are such an fantastic driver of visitation for regional areas and gives us the opportunity to showcase the beautiful Sapphire Coast! Being able to keep two of our favourites in the Wharf to Waves and Tathra MTB Festival as part of this 3 day event is a testament to Tathra community and in2adventure keeping the events community soul at the centre. Friday, 14th March – Tathra MTB Festival

Kicking off the excitement, the Tathra MTB Festival will bring mountain biking enthusiasts to Tathra’s renowned MTB trails.  With the expert support of members of the Tathra MTB Club, riders will have the opportunity challenge themselves on some of the best singletrack in the country, in a community that knows and loves the sport.

Thrill-seekers, seasoned riders and beginner riders alike will delight in the huge network that showcases Tathra’s unparalleled landscapes. Whether a seasoned rider or a first-timer, participants will find the MTB Festival on Friday afternoon an unforgettable ride through nature’s coastal playground.

Our home base at the Tathra Beach Country Club offers the perfect setting for a Friday afternoon filled with mountain biking, great food, camaraderie, and perhaps a few celebratory drinks at the bar. It’s the ideal spot to unwind and swap adventure stories with fellow riders against a backdrop of Tathra’s stunning landscape.

Saturday, 15th March – Tathra Wharf 2 Waves

Saturday marks the triumphant return of Tathra Wharf 2 Waves, a swim event that’s become legendary in the Ocean Swimming community nationwide.

Participants will brave the crystal-clear waters from the golden sands of Tathra Beach to the iconic Tathra Wharf and back, reuniting locals and visitors in the spirit of this cherished tradition.

The revival of Wharf 2 Waves is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the Tathra community, led by the passionate members of the Tathra Surf Lifesaving Club, who have come together to support and enhance this beloved event, making it even better than ever.

Based at the Surf Life Saving Club on Tathra’s stunning beachfront, athletes and friends and families can take in breathtaking coastal views, relax on the beach, and soak up the sapphire-blue waters—all while enjoying delicious food and drinks at the club before presentations.

Sunday, 16th March – Trail Run Australia

The grand finale, Trail Run Australia, invites runners to tackle the breathtaking coastal trails stretching between Merimbula and Tathra, offering a spectacular experience through some of the region’s most picturesque landscapes.

With distances to suit every level, from beginners to ultra-runners, this event promises an immersive experience through natural bushland, ocean views, and pristine beaches.

It’s the perfect way to cap off a weekend of adventure and mateship.

The Trail Run Australia course wraps up with an unforgettable finale as runners pass Tathra’s historic wharf and ascend the stunning headland.

At the summit, runners will be welcomed at the newly opened Eat Street Precinct, where a cheering crowd, sweeping 270-degree coastal views, and a vibrant atmosphere await. It’s the perfect place to unwind, savour local bites, grab a drink at the bar, and celebrate the festival spirit with fellow runners on a lazy Sunday coastal afternoon.
