Sunshine Coast MultiSport Festival – Course Update
With National Parks reopening the trails in Beerwah State Forest earlier in the week, we’ve been out doing an inspection and even with over 100mm of rain falling last weekend the single track trails are hard under foot and bike tyre, which was a pleasant surprise.
There is still some water on the fire trails that have a higher clay content, and these are still a bit soft in places. But, with the extra hot days (32 degrees) we’ve been experiencing in Queensland over the past few days these have started to dry out as well which is great news. We’ve included some pics from the ride yesterday below.
Currently there is no area on the course where it comes anywhere close to the depression impact which is one of the key triggers for national parks trail closures.
So, at the moment everything is on track for next weekend and the current forecast is looking good, however, we will continue to monitor the weather and the trails and will keep everyone updated as we fully understand how quickly things can change, but all indications are currently very positive.
We’d like to thank you once again for all your understanding and support over the past week as we worked through the reschedule.
