Hot Weather Contingency Plan for Trail Run Australia – Tathra
With warm weather on the horizon for Sunday, 16 March, we’re making some adjustments to ensure your safety, comfort, and hydration during Trail Run Australia – Tathra.
To keep you cool and running strong, we’re upgrading the hydration requirements across all distances:
🏃 TRA28 – Minimum 2 litres of water required. Compulsory refill station at CP 7 (12km mark).
🏃 TRA16 – Minimum 2 litres of water required.
🏃 TRA8 – Minimum 1 litre of water required.
🏃 TRA3.5 – Minimum 500ml of water required.
🥶 Icy Cool Boost!
- Ice packs will be available at CP 7 for TRA28 runners and at CP 11 for TRA28, TRA11, and TRA8.
- Grab one on the go to help beat the heat! You can drop it with the next marshal if you don’t want to carry it further.
⚡ Hydration Boost!
- FIXX Nutrition will be available at aid stations to top up essential electrolytes – because water alone won’t keep you fully hydrated.
🧊 Ultimate Cool Down!
- Ice bath at the finish line, thanks to Safir House – the perfect post-run recovery!
- I2A ‘Stay Cool’ towels will be available for purchase at the Merch Tent – a great way to stay refreshed.
🌡️ Stay Safe in the Heat!
- Know the signs of heat stroke and how to prevent it. Read more here
- Don’t forget the essentials! A hat, sunglasses, and a water-resistant, high-SPF sunscreen (reapplied throughout the event) will help keep you protected.
🌅 Morning Advantage!
The event takes place in the morning, meaning we’ll dodge the worst of the heat – but staying hydrated and sun-safe is key!
This is all about looking after you, so come prepared, run smart, and let’s make it an epic day on the trails!
📢 Stay updated via our event app and via socials. See you at the start line!
