WHY DO I NOW HAVE TO BOOK A BUS TO THE START FOR THE TRA21?
Due to higher than anticipated entries for the TRA21 course it has been necessary for safety, and for traffic management purposes to limit vehicle access to the start at Thredbo River Picnic Area.
Unfortunately, the available area for vehicles at the start line is limited and with entry numbers for the TRA21 far exceeding previous years it has been necessary to make the difficult decision that no vehicles will be able to access the start point on the morning of the event.
All TRA21 runners will be required to book the bus from Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa to the start.
We understand that this will be disappointing for some participants who won’t have the option to drive to the start, and friends and family won’t be able to watch the start. However, with the current high number of entrants, restricting vehicle access to buses only is essential to prevent congestion in the picnic area and, more crucially, on Kosciuszko Road.
We have worked to keep bus costs to an absolute minimum and all TRA21 entrants will need to book the bus online for $10 per person.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure a safe event for everyone.
